David Ippisch, Cohutta Grindstaff, and Isaac Stout are the proud owners of Athens' newest and largest general admission concert venue. The venue will be packed with theme nights, celebrity appearances, charity benefits, and much more.
If you like to party then we want you here!
-The Bad Manor Team
The venue is a building of cultural and historical significance. The building has seen original movie screening under the ownership of Paramount Pictures in the 40’s, played host to live theater and orchestra as the Ritz, and embodied everything from a hippie hang out to a discothèque club. The brick and mortar space has held strong physically and metaphorically as the embodiment of entertainment that has withstood the test of trends and time.
Our goal throughout the renovation process was to preserve and accentuate the buildings historical character while enhancing its ability to perform. If you can imagine taking the class, audio, video, and lighting sophistication found only in world-class nightclubs then mixing it with the laid back rock-n-roll spirit found in the heart of the Athens college community then you’ll have THE BAD MANOR.
The name, THE BAD MANOR, was created because “Bad” encompasses our party philosophy while “Manor” is meant to induce a feeling of class and comfort. The venue itself is reminiscent of a southern mansion from our earthy bathrooms to our stained wood stage and bars. However our special effects, cutting edge lighting, and high powered sound system will amplify downtown Athens with live music from national live acts, to local and regional talent.
With one foot in the past and an eye on the future we aim to appreciate Athens’ future while doing our best to help make it.

DAVID: Born and raised in Blue Ridge Georgia David operates a chain of AT&T retail stores as well as a property investment company. David’s has always had the party spirit engrained in his soul but it was wildly unleashed when to celebrate a land sale he combined 15 tons of sand, $20k in lights and sound systems, and placed everything in the middle of his 266 acre subdivision to make ridiculously cool outdoor dance club. This new passion combined with his entrepreneurial spirit sparked an immediate decision to open a entertainment venue. Lifelong favorite city Athens was quickly picked as the target city. After two years of searching with his sister Lisa for the perfect location the opportunity arose to take over one of the greatest locations and historical buildings in the city.
COHUTTA: Also sporting Blue Ridge as a hometown, Fresh out of high school Cohutta was quickly throw in a life changing journey when he was cast on MTV’s The Real World Sidney. During a random night out at Flip Flops, where Cohutta was bartending at the time, David mentioned his plans in Athens. Cohutta surprised explained how he and Isaac had been planning the same thing and within hours the three hoped on a conference call to discuss a partnership.
ISAAC: From Ohio Isaac’s world also took a crazy twist when he was cast on MTV’s The Real World Sidney. He and Cohutta became good friends. Isaac has also partied in some of the best clubs in the world and has always had a passion for music. During the call the three quickly solidified their plans to take their individual ideas of the greatest aspects of different venues from around the world and the first major step in turning their dreams into reality were underway.
